The project is organized into five work packages (WPs). WP1 and WP2 are technical. WP1 on ‘Satellite data and derived products’ contains the provisioning of Copernicus products and raw data from Sentinel-1/2 as well as derivation and validation of novel satellite-based products. WP2 involves the integration of satellite-based products from WP1 into flow models at different scales. The models will be run with new input layers at many global sites and the outcomes will be communicated back to WP1. Enhancements will be made and new tests performed in an agile manner with frequent feedback between WP1 and WP2.
WP3 is ‘Exploitation and commercialization’. A Business Exploitation Group will evaluate the business case regularly through InnoWind. EMD and DHI-GRAS will commercialize the outcomes of WP1 and WP2 to secure their exploitation beyond the project. Exploitation will follow three tracks: i) fast-track for Copernicus data layers readily available for integration in models; ii) intermediate track for data layers to be generated through a limited research effort; and iii) long-term track for novel data layers to be developed through a larger research effort .
WP4 is ‘Dissemination’ of project results and involves communication with stakeholders through a multitude of channels to facilitate a fast and easy uptake of the WP1, WP2, and WP3 deliverables.
WP5 contains the project management and is tightly linked to all other WPs through the management structure.
